Bla Bla Bla

i am so excited and anxiously anticipating for the Easter Break.
though i had no plans yet for my Easter holidays and might just probably ended up sleeping 24/7, there is just something about holidays that make me smile.
come on, who will not love holidays??
the very first holidays shall arrive in two days more and soon it would be winter break.
now that's something so so so positive to look forward to.

such an un-glam pic of me but who cares, i am in holiday mood now!!!!! huhu

好朋友

a somehow-rather-difficult journey in bringing my roomie out to buy birthday dresses for her ( we were like snatching clothes when she prevented me from paying the dresses).
i totally ran out of ideas for her birthday present this year. well, it had been four years of friendship that started when she was 18 and i was 17. it was really like love friendship at first sight. so finally i decided to drag her out to choose her own dresses as her birthday present.
and honestly,
nothing else could be more ideal than these gifts because i am totally aware of how beautiful she looks in dresses and how little dresses she had in her wardrobe.

though her birthday is next week, i thought i might just blog about it now since i am free right now at this moment.
my roomie that i am talking about, appeared rather frequently on my blog. she is like the co-star of my blog simply because i spend 24 hours every day with her. and surprisingly, i am not bored with her yet.
though there were ups and downs between us at times, but that's pretty much how a normal friendship should be.
that best part of having her as my friend is that we are so identical in so many ways.
for instance:
1.the both of us are pure lazy walkers and would rather opt for buses.
2. we have the tendency of hyper-sweating under the blazing sun.
3. we love to sleep after a whole day in uni.
4. we enjoy cooking and baking tremendously.
5. we love eating and enjoy 5-rated star food.
6. we have the tendency of talking to teddy bears. ( NOT weird)
7. we love dressing up and spend ages in the morning to choose the right outfits..
8. we love checking out people in uni.
9. we love music, i enjoy her Chinese music and she enjoys my Korean musics.
10. we somehow tends to dislike the same person. ( i would consider that important in clicking together lol)

well, the only differences is that i enjoy watching TV and football so much and she enjoys Garfield overly too much. yes obsessive of an orange fat cat.

it is her 21 st Birthday on 5th April 2010. officially entering the adulthood.
though she may act like a child at times, she is just like my second sister after my arabia. she looks after me really well especially those time when i burnt my leg. sometimes it is just awesome to be the youngest among the crowd, everyone looking after you. hehee.

Happy Birthday, Roomie!
Stay gorgeous always and it was such a pleasure to be your roomie!
Love ya,
Shen.

Fishy Bussiness

<span class=
all of the sudden i had the tingling feeling of blogging on a Thursday night which is rare ever since i was back in Brisbane.
honestly, i wonder who is still reading my blog apart from my family and few of my close buddies? and yet why am i still wasting my time blogging even though my readers ratings are like amazingly bad and my chat box ain't alive most of the time.
well, old habit dies hard..
oh and recently i love doing numbered post on a summary of my daily week because i find it simple, easy and pretty much straight to the point. so i shall continue doing so till i get bored with it one day soon. kekee.

#1. As for this week, it started horrendously when i broke my Internet key and was Internet-less for more than 3 days and even broke my earphones again. sometimes and most of the times in fact i am never fated to be with technologies. all of them would just somehow ended up in the repair workshop ranging from my laptop to my camera to my Internet key and etc.

#2. i COMPOUNDED MY VERY FIRST OINTMENT in lab today. it was amusingly fun making your own ointment for nappy rash instead of just buying it from the pharmacy. now, i might just start liking pharmacy a little more. well, just a little because the workload is just SO unbearable at times.

#3. i got lost again. i was supposed to bring my Internet key for repair at Milton, a place where i been once or twice only and ended up in the toowong bus garage instead. well, it was fun actually getting lost and discovering new things that you had never seen before.

delightful child when she got lost.

#4. the x-box stumbled upon at the 3 repair shop. wow, didn't expect to play xbox in a repair shop. now, ain't that a pleasurable free entertainment though we ended up playing cricket only.

#5. now, a little explanation. i named this post the fishy business simply because lately, i enjoyed cooking fishes so much and in fact much more than chicken. so much of a fishy person. lol. though it didn't had the- blewing-off-awesomeness, it was still edible and sufficient to smash smiles on our faces.
fried ginger fish recipe
( i should have shredded the ginger smaller so that it would taste crispier and fried the fish a little longer)

baked soy sauce fish
( the onion and the fish were totally scrumptious though the sauce was a little too salty which was rather annoying.)

ok so that's till thursday only. i couldn't just imagine how fast time flies. it felt like friday was just yesterday. and i know soon i would be at home again.
till then, i shall blogged again soon and take care guys. bye bye.

p/: my dearest roommate 21st birthday is next week!!!!!!! phew, she is just getting older. muahahahaa..

Bits and Pieces

(in the process of house-getting-messy)
and a week is gone which is utterly good and bad at the same time.
good because my easter break will arrive soon!
and
bad because there would be tonnes and tonnes and tonnes of assignments and exams soon.
and right now, i might have felt that my life is a little boring and more like a routine. waking up, studying, eating, heading to uni, sleeping, eating, watching tv and sleeping which kinda sucks. wish if there could be more unexpected surprises occurring around.
though i can't deny that i had many memorable things around in a week.

#1. Plated up one of my best accomplished chicken herb soup.
Tantalizing and somehow food like this just makes you miss home even more.

#2. The Nightmare of Shopping Trolley Bag
my housemate and I decided to get a trolley bag for it would be much easier for us to carry our groceries back to our home instead of carrying them in our hands and ended up with fingers pain. however, we were embarrassed down to our pants when our trolley self-dismantled for several times in the middle of the road with a wheel flying to the left and the other rolling down the hill.

#3. Just couldn't get away with burning.
scalded two of my left fingers with 100 degrees Celsius of boiling water. initially, i thought it was a minor and no-big-deal issue but it turns out that i couldn't write at all for the whole morning due to the friction on the scalded area as i am a leftie. self-bandaged with the help from my housemate with the skills we gained from my previous burn.
now,am i am forever a subject meant to be burnt?

#4. Mesmerized with the amazing transparency artwork on the Brisbane City Hall building.
yeah the colourful images that you saw on the building is just a reflection from the computer. how amazing it that.

#5. Enjoy open air Cinema for free.
Brisbane is having their film night every Friday, screening all the old movies for free. it is pretty cool to watch in an open air cinema, with the wind and darkness of the sky except for the part that the movie was too old (dated back to 1927) that it was pretty much a mute show with interesting sound effects only.

that's kinda how a week, is like to me.
except for this week i might have make a few more friends in my course which are totally awesome and had my first tutoring experience. it was a nightmare on the first day of my tutoring when i accidentally took the wrong bus to uni ( damn it small eyes) and arrived a little late to the pass session. but thanks to my awesome pass partner who was totally ok with it.
need to sleep now because my last energy is totally drained out typing this post.
bai bai! have a great weekend ahead!

don't we look cool? lol

Masca BBQ 2010

it is hard to believe that i was only in Brisbane for 3 weeks but it felt as if i had been here for months and ages.

the annual Masca BBq event is back ( though i might have preferred the last year one). finally after 3 weeks back in Brisbane, i met most of my friends around, friends that i met, knew and hang out with in First Year. and somehow due to the reason that i was now studying in a whole different campus from them, it would be nearly impossible to meet them on normal days in uni. utterly boring to be meeting the same 2nd year pharmacy students again and again through out the whole week. it sucks to be in an isolated campus.

back to story. i had fun today, meeting up with old friends. well, not that old but more like good friends.

met my most awesome senior again, Huda who offered us to stay in her house last year during our first arrival in Brisbane who taught us a lot of stuffs. i adore her so much and her kindness is so overwhelming.

met my close friend again, Xiang Xiang who is now studying in Gatton, another isolated campus. now you do see the effect of more isolated campus, bringing us all further apart! we could hardly meet up and had to communicate through facebook even though we were in the same state.

met my half japanese half malay friend again, Haziq. been ages since i last since him which was before my final exam last year. more than 5 months?
p/s: i tried really hard to whiten you up, koo but it doesn't seem to work. it must had been the bad lighting when we took the picture cause obviously i am darker than you.

we didn't took much pictures because we were like on-the-go mood of getting the food as fast as possible. lame usual 'kiasusiam' which somehow comes in really handy especially when it is about food. thanks to the awesome chong hao who knows a lot of people, we could easily skip the queue and get the first-hand food. lol.

anyway, i found the old picture of the Masca Bbq last year.
now tell me how much have we changed? did we changed for the better or for the worst?
sometimes it makes you laugh when you look at two pictures with nearly same people in it, taken at the same place for the same event but at a different time.

When.............

#1. When we finally boarded the City Cat (ferry kind transport) again after 3 months long. our most favourite and yet the least frequent transport we ever took in a year.

#2. When the sun finally shines again after two weeks of disappearance (though it still rains at night), I finally felt like I was really in Brisbane. toasted under the sun, shielded under the umbrella.

#3. When we refused to wait at the bus stop without a roof under the blazing sun and decided to hide in the telephone booth on the opposite road.

#4. When we arrived really early at the empty lecture theater for once. so not us, for being the usual on-the-dot uni students.

<span class=
#5. When we were still in uni at 5pm and when the bathroom was totally empty and isolated, we reflected ourselves.

that's all for now as i am extremely tired on Fridays and unfortunately will be in Uni on Fridays from 9am till 5pm. how 'lovely'. shall update again and looking forward for the Malaysian Bbq tomorrow in Uni. good night and sweet dreams!

Alice, NOT so in Wonderland

my first movie in Brisbane this year was plain disappointing
thought it would be the best movie with all those quirky costumes and make up but it was way below my expectations.
we watched 3d and the 3d effects even hardly worth your money.
sorry johnny deep i am your fan for most of your movies but this one i had to let it go.
should have watched blind side instead.
and
please never ever get
the 'bak teng' ( colourful candies that i somehow forgotten their name in English) from South Bank cinema. It was more like chewing rocks instead of candies.
if you're a fan of this movie, sorry if my views didn't seem to match yours, it was just plain humble opinion of mine.

Updating Myself.

(our small little home, just back from uni with slightly drenched)

1) I am pretty much settled down by now and somehow I had gotten used to my new home despite the fact that there were many insects around.

2) Return to uni and start to feel like an outcast again, perhaps being an international student makes u feel like the odd one here as everyone have their own click of friends and that simply makes me miss my home even more. or perhaps i am being the unsociable one for sticking to the friends i knew only, sense of security overrules everything.

3) Spend nearly AUS 450 just on books itself. why are pharmacy books freakishly expensive and they just have to be the Australian version which can't be obtained else where?

4) The weather been so gloomy for a week since i was back here and everything was so wet and messy. so-unlike-Brisbane.

5) Did not went anywhere yet except the usual routine of home, uni, groceries mart, home, uni and groceries mart. pretty much a boring lifestyle.

6) Been eating a lot since i was back here due to the big appetite that I had when i was back in Malacca. Smith one moment, grapes the next moment, biscuit a few minutes later and so on.

7) First house inspection was smooth and It was pleasant because it was our very first house inspection that ever went smoothly since we were here.

8) Back to the old days of watching Australian series ranging from Australia so you think you can dance to Biggest Loser to even Neighbours. still misses all those Chinese and Cantonese dramas.

9) will be watching Alice in the wonderland 3d tonight! something other than uni! =)

10) I miss my parents, my sis and my friends back there a lot! patiently waiting for December to arrive.

Back To The Uni Life

my fourth day of my second year in Brisbane and
i am extremely homesick.
weird because i rarely had homesick even at the age of nine when i first attended my camp in Pangkor for three days. surprisingly i miss my home so much right now. my 3 months back then were so fabulous that i broke down on the first night i was back here in Brisbane.
i miss the warmth of my family and the familiar surroundings in my house.
but life must go on and
all i look forward now is my next flight back to Malaysia.

my new pharmacy campus.
i still prefer studying in St Lucia campus with all the other students instead of being isolated with the same old pharmacy students that you see everyday. boring.

reuniting with my good old roommate/housemate again.

meeting up with old friends again and resume the cooking job.
all the food, cook by me.

been raining for nearly a week in Brisbane and it was cold during night which was weird because Malaysia was in fact hotter than Brisbane right now.
currently i am trying my very best to settle down in my new house in West End though i miss my old house back in Indooroopilly a lot.
shall blog again soon once i stop being so homesick. tata.
