The Chef of Destroyer

been my fourth time cooking by myself..
causing the whole kitchen to be top turvsy...

first dish : lap cheong omelette and ramen mee
rating : a pretty disaster considering the fact that i did not put enough salt..uggh..tastless

second dish : fried egg rice ala kampung
rating : this is passable considering the fact that you just need to pour the seasoning over the rice..

third dish : steamed custard egg
rating : err..this is a whole total disaster...instead of getting aromatic steamed egg, i ended up with egg soup!!!!!...

fourth dish : chicken fillet in dark soy sauce
rating : hahahaha finally i succeeded in cooking something tasty and drooling. yes.
maybe i wasn't that bad afterall..
lol.

so i am gonna share with you guys my whole process of cooking my fourth dish.
err...don't expect a wow or anything from a noob like me...

Chef of Destroyer on Duty

in the recipe, we need shallots and because i couldn't find shallots in the shelves, i ended up using bombay onions..it wasn't that bad actually..
it was only the slicing process of those onions are torturing.
and i will tell you why.

i cried like crazy when cutting those onions.
those tear glands just got activated while slicing the onions and tears start falling down uncontrollably.
i always assume that the tale of slicing onions will make you cry was just a myth.
hell not..
it was the worst crying i ever had.

in the recipe, it said that fry the shallots till brown and aromatic.
err...forgotten the fact that i was using bombay onions instead which will never turn brown, i kind of overcooked my onions.
but yet it is just a minor thing.
no worries.

in the recipe, it said pour 320 ml of water into the pan.
because i was lazy to measure the amount of water, i poured too much of water which flooded the whole pan.
in the end i have to scoop out the water.
what a chef could that be.

and when i served those chicken, mum came home.
she commented that my chicken was too black.. consequences for too much of dark soy sauce.
hahaa..but who cares right?
it is delicious and
it is presentable.

cooked by a novice like me.
clap clap clap.

finally after an hour of cooking that only dish,
i can enjoy my food.

somehow when you cooked your own food, you seemed to enjoyed eating it more despite the taste...

i am proud of my food despite the horrendous prepartions i had.

xoxo,
shen.
